Candidate
screening
Essential Choice offers several levels of background and reference checks on
all candidates and we adapt our processes to meet the needs of our clients.
From the early stages of pre-screening, we are determined to find you the right

In-depth
interviews
Essential Choice thoroughly screens candidates by phone before an interview
is scheduled. During a face to face interview we conduct a detailed review
of all the candidate's skills and experience including an assessment of career
goals and aspirations - both long and short term.
Candidate
registration forms
A signed declaration detailing information on education, professional
qualifications, entitlement to work, disciplinary record, credit
history & salary
details.
Testing
We have the appropriate facilities to test candidates for numeracy, literacy
and IT skills and are licensed to carry out certain behavioural assessments.
Qualifications
All professional qualifications are verified with the relevant body.
Referencing
Verbal references are taken and a minimum of 2 written references retained
on file for all temporary candidates prior to placement with you.
Right
to work
All documentation is checked and copies taken and retained. CVs are marked
with details of visa type.
Credit
and criminal background checks
We will perform credit and criminal background checks on candidates at your
request. Essential Choice follows the requirements of the Consumer Credit Reporting
Reform Act of 1996 and its amendments to the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Drug & alcohol
screening
We offer a comprehensive substance abuse screening at a competitive rate. Based
on your needs, we can provide both 5-panel and 10-panel screens.
